The local knowledge
The Green Dragon belongs to the everyday Shire of gossip, familiar faces and a drink by the fire. It is also the meeting point where Bilbo joins Thorin’s company as his adventure begins. In The Fellowship of the Ring, Sam and Ted Sandyman debate strange rumours there: the wider world is already reaching the local pub.
Our interpretation
Our sign takes the name as its starting point and gives it the warmth of a traditional country inn. The illustrated treatment is our own version of a literary place.
